Colorado Colfax Marathon 2006

2006 marked the Inaugural Year for the Colorado Colfax Marathon, a 26.2 mile run along the nation's longest continuous street. I ran the first half (13.1 miles) in one hour, fifty-nine minutes, and eight seconds (1:59:08). For those of you keeping score at home, that's an average speed of just under 9 minutes, 6 seconds per mile (it's actually 9.09 min/mile). I think that's damned impressive.

Special thanks go to my sister Maggie(!) and her husband and in-laws, who roused themselves out of bed to wait patiently by the street until I ran past them, cheering and screaming for me (I could hear them from about half a block away), and taking pictures. Special thanks also go to my friend Maxx, who met me in City Park near the point where I finished and took pictures and gave me a sandwich.
