“Blackout” Part I.  Superman visits Emil Hamilton to check on his newest invention--a helmet that will allow him to monitor remotely activity in the Fortress of Solitude.  Unfortunately Superman is unaware that the mysterious Mr Z has already visited the lab and doctored Hamilton’s equipment.  With Superman in his thrall, Mr Z travels to the Fortress to retrieve his jewel.  Attempting to break Z’s hypnotic control, Hamilton inadvertently causes a citywide blackout in Metropolis, and renders both Z and Superman unconscious.  1991/37.
