Solomon Grundy, Killer Frost, and Deadshot send Lois an unmistakable message. Lois meets with her best secret source: President Luthor’s other bodyguard Hope. When Luthor meets with Lois and instructs her to kill the story, Clark Kent runs it instead, claiming that Luthor had full knowledge of all the events of the War.

Public reaction to Clark Kent’s story about President Lex Luthor’s foreknowledge of the events of the War leads to a confrontation between Luthor and the JLA. Superman and Perry White discuss the next step in their plan to bring down President Luthor.
